About Me

My name is Robert, I have worked in internet marketing since 1998. I am currently working in Toronto, Ontario Canada as a senior website analyst. My primary tasks include:

1) Making website improvements based on analytic data.

2) Improving website conversion.

3) Finding out why your website is banned.

SEO for google is incredibly challenging and requires a clear focus on the purpose (goals) of your website. Once a website objective is determined the rest of the pieces all come together in a very methodical way.

I am going to create a series of videos that will discuss Google search engine optimization in detail. The search engine optimization video below is an introduction into the key factors I will concentrate on.

Google Banned my Website!

Yikes, that’s one of the most painful spankings for any webmaster. Google currently has roughly a 50% market share of all searches performed daily. To be removed from their index is a major blow to your organic pipeline of traffic.

What to do if Google Bans Your Website

Well, the remedy is quite simple. I refer to it as the three “Fs”…

1) Find it

2) Fix it

3) File for re inclusion

I know…easier said than done right? Take it from someone that does this for a living, if you do not have some idea of what Google considers acceptable content for their index than you’ll feel like a lost puppy dog. A good place for you to start is Google themselves. Peruse the webmaster guidelines and learn what they like and don’t like. It can be that easy!

Here are Common Reasons that your Site has been Penalized

1) Keyword focused Redirecting- Avoid setting up underhanded redirect pages designed to feed your keyword strategy. This will likely be perceived as a ranking manipulation attempt.

2) Black hat SEO. If you hire an Google SEO firm make sure they do not employ black hat techniques. An indicator is when SEO service begins, traffic levels drop.

3) Cloaking. To play it safe serve 1 version of your site that is optimized for people and search engines. Cloaking is when you serve more than 1 version, e.g. 1 for people and 1 for search engines.

4) Excessive Duplicate Content. Always compose your own content to avoid duplicate content. One of the primary reasons for LSI and the co-occurrence metrics is to thwart off spam and duplicate content.

5) Buying, Selling, Hiding links. May be seen as an attempt to artificially inflate search engine rankings.

6) Excessive use of keywords- If all content on a website is written by an industry expert this rarely occurs. The most common occurrences of this occur with SEO content writing.

How to Get Back in The Google Index

Assuming that you followed my 3 Fs recipe above successfully, it is a waiting game now. Google will re index your site when they are ready. Avoid submitting frequent re-inclusion reports.

Learn How to SEO for Google Effectively without Crossing Thresholds

SEO for Google has become a science. It is not as simple as throwing up a website with keywords and ranking, there are many ranking factors that Google uses to determine where a website will rank in its natural index. One of the main reasons is because they are the most gamed search engine in the world. Google engineers have been forced to grind their heels in and make it incredibly difficult to figure out what they are doing.
